For 用法

注意: 很多的中文解釋，都需要以英語context上文下理去理解的。 

 

A. ‘for’ 是一個 (conjunction)  連接詞解「因為」

例: -We all paid attention to listen, for she brought good news to our family. 

 

B. “for” 是一個 (preposition) 「介詞」

 

(1) 表示給誰的: This present is for him. 

 

(2) 表示向誰幫助:- What can we do for him 

 

(3) 表示誰關切 -Fortunately for us, we have won the trophy! 

 

(4) 表示代表誰 -He is speaking for his client. 

 

(5) 表示被誰聘請 -He’s working for the company. 

 

(6) 表示為了什麼 :-We would like to shake her hand for a warm welcome. 

 

(7) 表示支持誰 -Are you for the president, Barack Obama? 

 

(8) 表示原因:-Hong Kong is famous for its harbour scenery. 

 

(9) 表示要得到什麼:-They came for her advice.
